“My first time back to the dentist since….well let’s just say it’s been a ‘while.’ Dr. Sarah Po came highly recommended from another dentist-phobic person so I decided perhaps to give the old dental benefits a go. Calling and making an appointment was easy enough, Nancy in the front reception area was pleasant and accommodating, especially considering I was booking for myself, son and ex-husband. I had to book my own appointment pretty far out as my schedule is packed and so is Dr. Po, however I believe that’s typically true of any local dentist with a good reputation.

Upon my first appointment I had to fill out the typical medical history forms. No biggie. The dental assistant (or hygentist?) took me back and did 18 x-rays right there at the dentist’s chair. They move around you, you’re not shuffled from room to room. Nice. She was super sweet, a little nervous seeming as she’s recently graduated from school. Not to worry, there was a seemingly very experienced person there helping her. She kept chatting to me about her little boy and the weather and before I knew it, we were done. Chatting with the dentist always makes me laugh, particularly when they ask you about your job, kids, etc…then shove something in your mouth. But, I digress….So then Dr. Po came in and introduced herself, asked me some questions about my dental history, medical history, lifestyle etc. She didn’t seemed rushed at all, seemed very understanding when I told her my overall dental goals and didn’t preach at all when I didn’t seem interested in having my overbite, crooked teeth and everything else cosmetic fixed. I like this. She did my exam, taking her time to absolutely inspect each tooth compared to the x-ray, inspected my gums for disease and then did my cleaning. Now, because of her very thorough exam, I have a series of appointments with her this summer and I’m not at all dreading it…

Ok, yes I am, but honestly it’s not because of her….does anyone WANT a root canal? Her receptionist was extremely thorough in explaining my benefit under my insurance (Delta Dental, the cheapies) and took her time going through it with me. I know for sure how much I will be out of pocket when I see her for my RTC and crown. Oh and, btw, the exam, x-rays and cleaning are all covered 100% under my state employee Delta Dental, twice per year. Yay! So, hypothetically, if I just keep coming back, no more root canals….”

“If you are looking for a great dentist, look no further than Dr. Sarah Po. You will be very impressed. Your visit will start at her beautiful waiting spa-like lobby replete with an Egyptian/Nile Valley theme. You can have tea while reading from a large number of magazines while sitting on a plush couch. Their friendly staff are helpful and keep the paperwork simple. Once in the dentist chair, you forget you are even at the dentist since there is a view of a beautiful atrium with a pond and flowers. Also, Dr. Po’s chairside manner is impeccable. She made me feel extremely comfortable. She explained what procedures were to be done in plain language. She has a gentle hand and we were done faster than I expected. Before I left, I was given a “goody” bag with a toothbrush, floss and toothpaste. I recommend Dr. Po wholeheartedly to anyone who wants a dentist who cares and is gentle.”

“My two-year-old daughter recently had her first visit to the dentist with Dr Sarah and what a far cry it was from my first visit um-teen years ago. Dr Sarah was very patient with my daughter in introducing her to the office and the equipment, all of which was “tested” out on mommy first. Dr Sarah has a very warm and unobtrusive personality which went over well with my skeptical but warmed-over little one, especially when it came time to visit the treasure chest. Even without the treasures, my daughter enjoyed the one-on-one attention as Dr Sarah interacted with her by counting her teeth and showing her how to brush. This first time visit to the dentist was an event that my daughter still talks about every time we get out the tooth brush and she brands about the pink bristles and says, “brush just like Dr. Sarah…”

“Fantastic dentist. She was very gentle, and everything was very comfortable. The staff was all very friendly. Dr Po even took the time to explain everything to me. The view was amazing. The office was very luxurious feeling. The lobby doesn’t seem like a cold doctors office, so much as a luxurious apartment. The middle of the office building is gorgeous. Even the bathroom was done in faux gold painting, and had hotel style towels.”
